The May meeting of EAA Chapter 284 will be Sunday May 19th at 2 PM at Red Stewart Airfield.
Brian Clayton of Moraine Airpark will do a presentation on Part 103, Ultralight aircraft. Brian is part of a small group of ultralight pilots based at Moraine. If weather permits he will fly to Waynesville, possible with on or two other pilots with their aircraft. If the weather is not cooperating the they will at the airport and will give their presentation, which will include a short video.

This Sunday (May 4. 2013) EAA Chapter 48 will hold its annual Funday Sunday Pancake Breakfast and Fly In at Moraine Airpark. The Wright Seaplane Base will have a display. There will also be an FAA Safety Seminar and a workshop on the Ipad and Foreflight.
Wednesday evening (May 1, 2013) the Discovery Channel will premier the Big Brain Theory. Essentially a kind of Junk Yard Wars on steroids (Chapter member Tom Johnson is a contestant).

EAA Chapter 284 will hold its April 2013 chapter meeting on Sunday, April 14th at 2 PM at Red Stewart Airfield.
The program will be a demonstration of a Kearney Roll Swagger. This is an alternative to nicopress fitting to make control cable and flying wires. Terminal fitting include fork end. eye end, ball end and threaded ends for use with turnbuckles. Roll swaged terminal end make a nice neat end.
I am attaching the newsletter from the Wright Seaplane Base (WSBI Newsletter Spring 2013 or click image below). This is a project in which I am invoked in the West Carrollton-Moraine area.

EAA Chapter 284 will hold its January chapter meeting Sunday January 13, 2013, 2 PM at Red Stewart Airfield (40I) Waynesville OH. Our chapter renewed our EAA affiliation and paid insurance for 2013.
Bob has recently been named a trustee with the Wright Seaplane Base and will update the chapter. During 1912 – 1914 Orville Wright conducted hydro-aeroplane experiments on the bend in the Great Miami River, between what is now the Moraine Airpark and the city of West Carrollton. This is probably the least known aspect of the Wright contribution to aviation.
