EAA Chapter 284 will hold its December Chapter meeting at 2 PM on Sunday December 8th at Red Stewart Airfield. Bob Luken will have his laptop and projector and can show members pictures as well as showing photos of his Celebrity. He now has it on the gear and is working on mounting and rigging the wings.
EAA is in the process of the Chapter renewal process. Renewal packages were mailed last week and a change this year is that the insurance renewal is separated from the total renewal package.
EAA Chapter 284 will hold its November 2013 Chapter meeting on Sunday, November 10, 2013 2 PM at Red Stewart Airfield.
As discussed at last month’s meeting this will be an opportunity for members to share progress on their projects. Bob will have a digital projector so members who have pictures to share should bring them on a flash drive.
Dues for 2014 are now due and can be paid at the chapter meeting or a check made payable to EAA Chapter 284 can be mailed to Rich Corbett. We also need to elect Chapter officers for 2014. I know that there seems to be little interest in assuming a chapter office. We are mostly volunteers. If you would like to fill a chapter office let one of the current officers know.
Coming up on Saturday, November 9th is an auction for aircraft parts and tools that were owned by Gary Collins. There are some machine tools, and engine parts for a Continental O-300 and it appears that there is a core engine, plus some additional parts. The auction will begin at 10 AM at Gary’s hanger at O’Bannon Creek Aerodrome (OH66 http://www.airnav.com/airport/OH66). They have a turf runaway, 3500’ x 80’. Street address is 6889 Goshon Rd. The October EAA Chapter 284 chapter meeting will be held Sunday, October 13, 2013, 2 PM at Red Stewart Airfield.
Weather permitting Chapter member Tom Johnson is scheduled to bring his recently completed Steen Skybolt to the meeting. The first test flight was August 17th
Tim Carrier has recently purchased a Fisher Flying Products Super Koala. The Super Kola is a wood and fabric side-by-side seat aircraft. Currently he has the aircraft at his home. It needs some minor repairs before flying. He is looking for hanger space so he can assemble and test fly his plane. Continue Reading »
