TAILDRAGGER Fly In and Pancake Breakfast Issues:
A major issue that we should probably be decided at this month’s meeting in the possibility of cancelling this year’s Taildragger Fly In and Pancake Breakfast. Currently there has been an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 infection in the area. Montgomery County, Butler County and Hamilton are level 3 while Warren, Clermont’ Clark and Preble counties are level 2. Several of these counties continue to show an increase of COVID-19 infections. Yesterday the Governor extended the ban on mass gatherings indefinitely. Mass gathering have been defined as either more than 10 or more than 100, depending on the date of the Executive Order. Additional requirements are for social distancing and other specific requirements for food service operations.
As a result or the new Executive order, Waynesville has canceled its Sauerkraut Festival for this years. Many other concerts and festivals in the area are also being cancelled. Taking all of these factors into account it may be the wisest thing the cancel the Pancake Breakfast and Fly-In for this year. This of course will include any Young Eagle flights.
We will discuss this at Sunday’s meeting and probably make a decision.
