EAA284 Meeting December 12 2010

EAA Chapter 284 will hold its December 2010 meeting on SUnday December 12 at 2 PM. Meeting location is Red Stewart Airfield Waynesville OH (40I). Bob Dewenter of Centerville OH is starting a Pietenpol to be powered by a converted Corvair engine. He has returned from the recent Corvair College #19, which was held November 12-14 in Barnwell S.C.
For those who may not know William Wynne puts on free weekend seminars on converting Corvair engines. For those considering a Corvair conversion the Corvair Colleges are a great way to get some hands on experience, as well as to meet other Corvair builders. We look forward to Bob’ presentation.

Stewart’s airshow & our Chapter’s Taildragger Fly-In

With Airventure in Oshkosh Wisconsin recently ending and preparations for our chapter’s Labor Day weekend Taildragger Fly-In/Pancake breakfast underway, this might be a good time to mention that Saturday, September 4th is also the Stewart’s annual airshow at 40I. If camping under the wing of your plane and pancakes on Sunday morning aren’t enough to get you excited about coming (walk, ride, drive or fly), maybe an airshow video will help put you in the mood? (Thanks Steve for highlighting the ‘excellent HD video which is worth watching in full screen mode.)

Full disclosure — the ol’ time country airshow on the Stewart’s grass strip in Waynesville OH  is just a tad bit smaller than what this video represents.

EAA284 Meeting July 11 2010

EAA Chapter 284 will hold its July meeting on Sunday July 11, 2010 at Red Stewart Airfield (40I), Waynesville OH. This will be a joint meeting with Popular Rotorcraft Association Chapter 34.  We normally meet at 2 PM but will be grilling and meeting about noon. We are hoping for good weather so PRA Chapter 34 members can fly their gyroplanes or helicopters to Waynesville.

EDIT: Follow up photos from July 11th meeting here.
