EAA284 Chapter Meeting June 10 2012
EAA Chapter 284 will hold its June 2012 meeting on Sunday June 10th at Red Stewart Airfield (40I), Waynesville OH at 2 PM
This month local aviation author Sarah Rickman will give a presentation on the Woman Airforce Service Pilots (WASP)
The presentation is entitled “So Who Are the WASP Anyway?”
This will be an overview of the WASP program from its inception summer 1942 through disbanding December 1944 and their present day history touching on their militarization in 1977 and the awarding of the Congressional Gold Medal in 2010.
Sarah will also have copies of her books available for sale.

EAA284 Chapter Meeting May 20 2012
EAA Chapter 284 will hold its May chapter meeting on the 3rd Sunday in May (May 20) rather then the second Sunday.
Also, EAA Chapter 48 is hosting their annual Funday Sunday Fly In and Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, May 6th at Moraine AIrpark, I73 — Time is 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Two workshops are scheduled.
10 – 11 AM Aviation use of the IPad
Presented by Mike Greiger of Sporty’s
He will focus on the ForeFlight app as well as the newly released Stratus ADS-B weather receiver. He will also touch on WingsX and the Garmin Pilot.
Just a note that WingsX is also available for the Android Platform.
11 – !2 Mixing it up in the Traffic Pattern
Presented by the FAA FAASTeam instructor Steve Thibodaux.
He will focus on patterns and operations at non-towered airports.

EAA284 Chapter Meeting April 15 2012 [updated]
We normally have our chapter meetings on the 2nd Sunday of the Month. This year Easter falls on the 2nd Sunday. I’m sure everyone would prefer spending the day with family. With that in mind the chapter meeting will be moved to the 3rd Sunday, April 15th.
UPDATE: We will not have a regular chapter meeting this month.
The Tuskegee Airmen: Myths and Realities
Air Force historian Dr. Daniel L. Haulman will present “The Tuskegee Airmen: Myths and Realities” at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 31 at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Haulman’s lecture coincides with this month’s release of Red Tails, a movie about the Tuskegee Airmen. Admission and parking are FREE
