EAA284 Chapter Meeting Feb 9 2020

EAA Chapter 284 will hold its February Chapter Meeting on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Red Stewart Airfield (40I) Waynesville, OH Time 2:30 PM.

At this meeting, we will discuss the possibility of using the EAA’s provided web site. I can see advantages and disadvantages. If you would like to see what EAA is offering the webinar was recorded and is available on the EAA web site. View the video if you have the opportunity.

We have had a request from another chapter to donate our Young Eagle credits to them so that they can send two of their Young Eagles to Air Camp. We currently have 15 YE credits valued at $5.00 each. We can spend the money on something to directly benefit our YE program od donate them to another chapter or return them to the EAA. A few years ago several chapters donated YE credits to us so that we could send a YE to Air Camp. Unfortunately, that person experienced a family health emergency and was unable to attend.

EAA284 Chapter Meeting December 8 2019

EAA Chapter 284 will hold its December chapter meeting at Red Stewart Airfield (40I) on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 2:30 PM.

• I was able to purchase 10 heavy duty folding chairs at a local auction for a total of $20.00. I am donating these to the chapter.
• Rod Thompson has provided this LINK to industrial adhesives, You may find some useful information and perhaps a product that you can use.
• Mike Barden has provided a LINK to his YouTube channel and a video of this year’s TDFI.

EAA284 Chapter Meeting Nov 10 2019

EAA Chapter 284 will hold its October Chapter Meeting on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Red Stewart Airfield (40I) Tine 2:30 PM. Bob will go over the final financial report for our last Fly-In and Pancake Breakfast. Chapter renewal time is fast approaching. For 2019 our renewal fees were $359. I expect the fees will be about the same for 2020.

It’s also time to think about chapter officers for next year. We generally do this in an informal way by means of general consensus. If you are interested in a chapter office make your intention known at the meeting. The final choice will be made at our December meeting.

EAA284 Chapter Meeting Oct 13 2019

EAA Chapter 284 will hold its October meeting on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 2:30 PM. The meeting will not be at Red Stewart Airfield. This month’s meeting will be at Ivan Reznor’s home to see the progress that he has made on his Zenith 601 kit.

EAA284 Chapter Meeting August 11 2019

EAA Chapter 284 will hold its August 2019 chapter meeting on Sunday August 11, 2019 at Red Stewart Airfield (40I) Meeting Time is 2:30 PM in the main building.

This will be a time to review the experiences of those who attended AirVenture last month and planning for our annual Fly-In and Pancake Breakfast scheduled for Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Red Stewart. We will also have to do an inventory of what supplies we have on hand. This usually does not take long.

EAA284 Chapter Meeting July 14 2019

The July meeting of EAA Chapter 284 will take place on Sunday, July 14th at Red Stewart Airfield (40I), Waynesville, OH. Meeting time is 2:30 PM.

This is just a few days before some of will be leaving for Oshkosh. I hope that those who are planning to go to AirVenture will attend so that we can coordinate caning plans. If you plan on going to AirVenture but cannot attend the meeting please let me know so that I can keep you in the information loop. If you haven’t already done so I suggest that you download the AirVenture app for your smart phones and tablets. It is the best way to keep track of events. It is updated regularly during the week.

EAA284 Chapter Meeting June 9 2019

The June Meeting of EAA Chapter 284 will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2019. Time 2:30 PM at Red Stewart Airfield (40I), Waynesville, OH. I am including a list of EAA Webinars for June and July 2019 (below the break).

I have also learned that local aviation legend and aircraft designer, John Dyke of Fairborn, OH has donated his Delta Dyke aircraft to the EAA Museum in Oshkosh. John has been a member of EAA Chapters 48 at Moraine and 382 at Greene County.

EAA284 Chapter Meeting May 19 2019

This being May our next chapter meeting will be on the 3rd Sunday (May 19th) rather than the second Sunday. This is a long-standing chapter practice so that members can celebrate Mother’s Day.

OCTOBER MEETING Suggestion

EAA284 Chapter Meeting April 14 2019

EAA Chapter 284 will hold its April Chapter meeting on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at Red Stewart Airfield (40I), Waynesville, OH at 2:30 PM

• Ivan will do a presentation on the cable tensiometer that he is making.  (a copy of the KITPLANES article covering this project was sent to members by email).
• Rod will do a presentation on the Chapter Leadership meeting that he attended last month in Indianapolis.
• EAA Chapter 48 will hold its annual Funday Sunday Fly-In and Pancake breakfast on Sunday, May 5th at Moraine Airpark.
• For those who have obtained Youth Protection training, it is now renewal time for that certification.

May meeting as has been our practice will be moved to the 3rd Sunday to accommodate Mother’s Day which is on the 2nd Sunday.
