EAA Chapter 284 will hold its August 2016 meeting on Sunday August 14 at 2:30 PM at Red Stewart Airfield (40I). For those who went to AirVenture please be prepared to give reports on your experiences and any workshops or forums that you attended.

Preparing for the 2013 Taildragger Fly-In
The annual Taildragger Fly-In is about a week away and the airport activities being with the Stewart’s open house and air show at 4 PM on Saturday. Our EAA284 chapter will be meeting at the hanger about noon on Saturday to clean the hanger and get it set up for the pancake breakfast on Sunday. It does take a couple of hours for this, but there is plenty of time to enjoy the activities and air show. Many hands will make light work of the hanger prep so come on out Saturday if you can. Bob Luken has asked that our Pancake breakfast volunteers arrive at the hanger by 6 AM on Sunday morning so that we can start serving at 7 AM.
Start thinking about Labor Day Weekend 2012
Stewart’s airshow & our Chapter’s Taildragger Fly-In
With Airventure in Oshkosh Wisconsin recently ending and preparations for our chapter’s Labor Day weekend Taildragger Fly-In/Pancake breakfast underway, this might be a good time to mention that Saturday, September 4th is also the Stewart’s annual airshow at 40I. If camping under the wing of your plane and pancakes on Sunday morning aren’t enough to get you excited about coming (walk, ride, drive or fly), maybe an airshow video will help put you in the mood? (Thanks Steve for highlighting the ‘excellent HD video which is worth watching in full screen mode.)
Full disclosure — the ol’ time country airshow on the Stewart’s grass strip in Waynesville OH is just a tad bit smaller than what this video represents.

For those who attend (or work) the Labor Day Pancake Breakfast, Doug S., Doug G. and Jim W. from PRA Chapter 40 produced a great video of their visit in 2009. It has been included on the Taildragger Fly-In tab at the top of the page as well as below.

Our chapter’s Taildragger Fly In and Pancake Breakfast for 2009 was a great time and big success. A big thanks to all who flew or drove to Red Stewart Field and enjoyed the great weather, good food and collection of airplanes. We look forward to seeing you next year and at other events around the area. Keep in mind that our chapter’s “kitchen” is available to rent to your EAA chapters’ events.

Be sure to fly — or drive — in for breakfast on Sunday morning September 6th for our chapter’s Annual Taildragger Fly-In Pancake Breakfast. Better yet, spend the night camping under your plane at Red Stewart Field Saturday and enjoy the late afternoon/evening airshow.
