EAA Chapter 284 will hold its December meeting on Sunday, December 13th at 2:30 PM at Red Stewart Airfield. I apologize for the late notice. I realize that this is the holiday season and many of you may have other plans, but I hope that everyone will be able to attend.
Member sharing is always a part of every meeting. I will be bringing some information on calibrating iron for fabric shrinking. a sample of Oratex fabric and an assembled cable fashioned with roll swagged fittings rather than Nicopress fittings.Bring what ever you have to share.
You can pay your dues for 2016 at this meeting. $20.00 for the year.
This month’s meeting will be at the home of Chris McClellan, 3234 Regent St, Kettering, Ohio 45409. Chris is building a Falconar Maranda which is a wood and fabric, high wing monoplane and he will be giving a presentation on the general woodworking practices form AC 43-13b.
Chris’s home is near Kettering Hospital. Use your GPS or a map to help you find his home. General directions are to find either W Dorothy Lane or W. Stroop Rd, and then Southern Blvd. If you know where Kettering Hospital is located you are almost there. Once you are on Southern Blvd’ turn west onto Ridgeview Ave. The 4th street is Regent St, Turn right on Regent St. If you are having difficultly finding the house, contact Bob Luken by email or call 937-602-7418.
This is the weekend of the Waynesville Sauerkraut Festival so you may want to try and avoid the Rte 42 and area.
EAA Chapter 284 will hold its July 2015 meeting on Sunday, July 12th at 2:30 PM at Red Stewart Airfield. The meeting topic will include AirVenture planning. We will have a chapter camping area between 29th and 30th, just off of Schaick. This is a very convenient and central location. If you are planning on flying in to AirVenture and want to camp with we will have someone bring you camping gear with them. Please bring your gear to Sunday’s meeting.
EAA Chapter 284 will hold its June Chapter meeting on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Red Stewart Airfield. Time is 2:30 PM.
Last Month Mike McKosky visited the Manufactory, a makerspace in Cincinnati. I have asked him to do a presentation on what he has learned and share it with the membership. Mike also crews at the glider port on the second Sundays and is not sure that he will be able to do both, Let’s hope that he is able to spend some time at our meeting.
At Sunday’s meeting we had some discussion about having some parts made by online. Bob Luken has started to put together some resources for members to consider. ( no recommendation — do your own research)

EAA Chapter 284 will hold its May chapter meeting on Sunday, May 17th. Note that this is the 3rd Sunday, rather than the second Sunday. Meeting time will be 2:30 PM.
EAA Chapter 48 will hold its annual Funday Sunday Fly In and Pancake Breakfast on Sunday May 3, 2015 at Moraine Airpark (I73). Breakfast from 8 AM until about 11 AM. This is the first local fly in of the year. For Chapter 48 it is about their 54th fly in.
Bob Luken’s Fisher Celebrity project is at Moraine and chapter members will be able to see it after about 12 noon.
EAA Chapter 284 will hold its April 12 2015 meeting at Bob Wilson’s home in Greenfield Ohio to see his Champ restoration project. Meeting time will be 2:30 PM.
