EAA284 Chapter Meeting Oct 13 2013

The October EAA Chapter 284 chapter meeting will be held Sunday, October 13, 2013, 2 PM at Red Stewart Airfield.

Weather permitting Chapter member Tom Johnson is scheduled to bring his recently completed Steen Skybolt to the meeting. The first test flight was August 17th

Tim Carrier has recently purchased a Fisher Flying Products Super Koala. The Super Kola is a wood and fabric side-by-side seat aircraft. Currently he has the aircraft at his home. It needs some minor repairs before flying. He is looking for hanger space so he can assemble and test fly his plane. Continue reading

Preparing for the 2013 Taildragger Fly-In

The annual Taildragger Fly-In is about a week away and the airport activities being with the Stewart’s open house and air show at 4 PM on Saturday. Our EAA284 chapter will be meeting at the hanger about noon on Saturday to clean the hanger and get it set up for the pancake breakfast on Sunday. It does take a couple of hours for this, but there is plenty of time to enjoy the activities and air show.  Many hands will make light work of the  hanger prep so come on out Saturday if you can.  Bob Luken has asked that our Pancake breakfast volunteers arrive at the hanger by 6 AM on Sunday morning so that we can start serving at 7 AM.

EAA284 Chapter Meeting August 11 2013

EAA Chapter 284 will hold its August meeting on Sunday, August 11, 2013, 2 PM at Red Stewart Airfield, Waynesville Ohio. Ivan and I will provide reports on Oshkosh. And will will discuss planning for the 2013 Tail Dragger Fly In and Pancake Breakfast Sunday September 1, 2013. I hope that we can have a Young Eagles Rally as we usually do. If you are current I hope that you will take some time to schedule a plane to fly Young Eagles on Sunday the 1st.

June 13, 2013 – Facing a spectrum of unpalatable options, EAA today finalized a one-time agreement with the FAA to cover nearly $450,000 in expenses related to air traffic control services at the 2013 EAA AirVenture Oshkosh fly-in, which begins on July 29.

EAA284 Chapter Meeting Sunday May 19 2013

The May meeting of EAA Chapter 284 will be Sunday May 19th at 2 PM at Red Stewart Airfield.

Brian Clayton of Moraine Airpark will do a presentation on Part 103, Ultralight aircraft. Brian is part of a small group of ultralight pilots based at Moraine. If weather permits he will fly to Waynesville, possible with on or two other pilots with their aircraft. If the weather is not cooperating the they will at the airport and will give their presentation, which will include a short video.
