EAA284 Chapter Meeting August 11, 2024

EAA AirVenture 2024…some highlights from chapter members who attended (be watching for the newsletter for more member comments and pics!):

EAA Chapter 284 President, Tim Carrier: “I like seeing all the airplanes, watching the airshows, and meeting all the friendly like-minded aviation people. Also the weather was great! I enjoyed the chapter camping. I just enjoy everything about it!”

EAA Chapter 284 Treasurer, Mike Barden: “Enjoyed the Chapter Camping, was nice to have a base to operate from with folks we know. We had enough space and a convenient location for most activities. Also enjoyed seeing all of the rare and one-of-a-kind aircraft there including the scale P-28 and the Lancaster.”

  • The Ohio Region EAA Newsletter generally goes out the first of the month. This essentially means that the first announcement should be in the August newsletter and again in the September newsletter.
  • What tools does EAA provide to distribute event information? Perhaps this information can be gained at AirVenture (Blue Barn)?

Young Eagles Registration

  • EAA provides an online registration tool for advance registrations – we have not used this option mainly because we don’t know how many pilots we will have available for each event.
  • YE Staffing- 1 person to handle registrations, 1 person to handle logbooks and certificates, 1 person for operations safety

Signage

  • We have several new signs that have been printed on adhesive paper. Work needs to be done to put them on Coroplast boards.
  • Are other new signs needed?

AirVenture Attendees

  • Is any final coordination needed?
  • There are always excellent programs for chapter management. Try to attend some.
